The G87 M2 takes carbon better than almost any current BMW, because the factory car is already busy: square intakes, a deep rear bumper and a short, high trunk lid. The parts that suit it best either sharpen what is there (a CS style lip and diffuser) or lean all the way in (V-ST and MT style with an ADRO ducktail). This guide covers every G87 carbon part we stock, what each one changes, which fit the G42 2 Series too, and how to put a set together without the front and back arguing.
What fits the G87, and what the G42 shares
The G87 M2 and the G42 2 Series coupe share a basic shape, but the M2 has its own wider body, bumpers and sills. That splits our G87 parts into two groups.
G87 only: the two front lips, the three rear diffusers and the ADRO style spoiler. These fit the M2's own bumpers and trunk, so they are listed for the G87 alone.
G87 and G42: the MP, PSM, V, V-ST and T style trunk spoilers, the V style window spoiler and the N style hood are listed for both, so an M240i owner can use them too.
Some parts sit under the skin and follow the engine rather than the body. The M2 shares the S58 with the G80 M3 and G82 M4, so the G8X front mount intakes and the oil cooler guard are listed for the G87 as well. Body parts from the M3 and M4 do not fit; the chassis codes guide explains why.
G87 front lips: CS style vs V-ST style
There are two lips, and they pull the front end in different directions.
| Lip | Price | Shape | Suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| CS style | $570 | Follows the factory bumper line, the M2 CS look | Daily cars, a factory-plus build |
| V-ST style | $479 | Pronounced side extensions at the corners | Lowered cars, a track look |
The CS style lip follows the carbon splitter BMW fitted to the M2 CS. It stays close to the bumper, so from a few steps away the car simply looks finished. If you want people who know the M2 to notice and everyone else to assume it came that way, this is the one.
The V-ST style lip adds pronounced side extensions that push the corners of the bumper out and down. It makes the car look wider and lower from the front three-quarter view, which is where the M2 looks best. It suits a car that is already lowered or on stiffer suspension, where a quiet lip can get lost.
Both are dry carbon and fit the factory front bumper. Any lip sits lower than the bare bumper, so take steep driveways and parking blocks at an angle for the first few weeks until you know your clearance.
G87 rear diffusers: OEM, MT or CS style
The rear diffuser does more to the M2's look than anything except the spoiler, because the factory bumper leaves a big black area around the four tips. All three of ours are dry carbon and bolt to the factory mounting points.
| Diffuser | Price | Look |
|---|---|---|
| OEM style | $530 | Factory shape, replaced in dry carbon |
| CS style | $510 | Full-width fins, the M2 CS look |
| MT style | $490 | Deeper centre section, extended fins |
The OEM style diffuser keeps BMW's shape and swaps the plastic for carbon. Pick it if you like the factory design and only want the material to change, or if the rest of the car is staying stock.
The CS style diffuser adds full-width fins across the lower bumper. It is the natural partner for the CS style lip: same design family, same level of aggression.
The MT style diffuser is the most aggressive of the three, with a deeper centre section and longer fins. It pairs with the V-ST lip, and it is the one that makes the back of the car look closest to a race car.
If your car has an aftermarket exhaust, check that its tip size and spacing line up with the diffuser's cut-outs before you order. Send us a photo of the back of the car and we will check it.
G87 trunk spoilers: seven shapes from subtle to wing
The spoiler changes the M2's profile more than any other part, so it is the decision to get right. Here they are from quietest to loudest.
| Spoiler | Price | Fits | Shape |
|---|---|---|---|
| MP style | $240 | G87, G42 | Subtle lip with a raised centre, dry carbon |
| PSM style | $275 | G87, G42 | Low-profile ducktail that follows the trunk line |
| V style | $240 | G87, G42 | Flat centre blade, raised outer tips |
| V-ST style | $260 | G87, G42 | Raised centre, upturned tips, dry carbon |
| T style | $265 | G87, G42 | Wing-style profile with upturned ends |
| ADRO style | $410 | G87 only | Raised ducktail with a centre cutout, dry carbon |
The MP style is the safe choice: it reads as a factory accessory. The PSM and V styles add a clear ducktail without changing the car's silhouette much. The V-ST and T styles turn up at the ends, which shows from behind as well as from the side. The ADRO style is the statement piece: a tall ducktail with a cutout through the middle, made for the M2's own trunk.
There is also a V style window spoiler ($240) that sits above the rear window and mounts to the factory roofline. It works on its own or with a trunk spoiler underneath it, which gives the back of the car a two-tier look.
The N style carbon fiber hood
The N style carbon fiber hood ($1,450) is a direct replacement for the factory hood on both the G87 M2 and the G42 2 Series. It has functional vents that let engine bay heat out, and it changes the look of the whole front end more than any lip can.
A hood is a bigger job than bolt-on aero. It is easier with two people, hardware usually moves across from the factory hood, and the panel gaps want adjusting once it is on. Ask us what transfers before you start. Plan to protect the finish as well: a carbon hood sits flat in the sun all day, so UV is its biggest enemy. The carbon care guide covers coating and film.
Putting a G87 build together
Keep the front and back in the same design family and the car looks deliberate. These sets use current prices.
| Build | Parts | Total |
|---|---|---|
| OEM plus | OEM style diffuser, PSM style spoiler | $805 |
| CS look | CS style lip, CS style diffuser, MP style spoiler | $1,320 |
| Track look | V-ST style lip, MT style diffuser, V-ST style spoiler | $1,229 |
| Full send | V-ST style lip, MT style diffuser, ADRO style spoiler, V style window spoiler, N style hood | $3,069 |
OEM plus changes only the back of the car and keeps it looking stock to anyone who does not know M2s. CS look is the most coherent set we sell for the G87, with every part from the same design. Track look is the best value way to make the M2 look aggressive. Full send is for a lowered car that is already built.
Beyond carbon: DRLs, intakes and exhaust
Once the body is done, most M2 owners move to light and sound. The G87 RGB DRL ($240) adds app-controlled colours and effects to the daytime running lights. On public roads the front lights must show white or amber in most places, so keep the other colours for shows; the RGB DRL guide covers this.
Because the M2 shares its engine with the M3 and M4, the G8X front mount intakes ($430) and the G8X midpipe, which has an M2 (G87) option, fit too. The midpipe guide explains the exhaust options, and the intake guide compares the intakes.

FAQ
Do G42 M240i spoilers fit the G87 M2?
The MP, PSM, V, V-ST and T style trunk spoilers and the V style window spoiler are listed for both the G87 M2 and the G42 2 Series. The ADRO style spoiler is listed for the G87 only.
Do the G87 front lips fit an M240i?
No. Both lips are made for the M2's own front bumper, which is a different shape from the G42's. The G42 parts we stock are the spoilers and the N style hood.
Do G80 M3 or G82 M4 carbon parts fit the G87 M2?
The body parts do not: the M2 has its own bumpers, sills and trunk. Parts that follow the S58 engine or sit under the front bumper, like the G8X front mount intakes and the oil cooler guard, are listed for the G87 as well.
Which G87 diffuser looks most like the factory one?
The OEM style diffuser keeps BMW's shape and only changes the material to dry carbon. The CS style adds full-width fins, and the MT style is the deepest and most aggressive.
Which G87 spoiler is the most subtle?
The MP style. It keeps a low profile with a slightly raised centre, so it looks like a factory accessory. The PSM style is the next step up, with a low ducktail that follows the trunk line.
